This Privacy Policy explains what information SMSInbox ("we", "us", "our") collects, how we use it, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have. It is written to be consistent with GDPR-style principles where applicable.
1. What data we collect
We collect only what we need to operate the service:
- Account data: email address and login credentials (passwords are stored in hashed form).
- Billing data: top-up and transaction records. Payment-card details are handled by our payment processors, not stored by us.
- Service data: the temporary numbers you request and the services/countries selected, for the purpose of providing and supporting the service.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, operating system, and similar information collected automatically for security and correct site operation.
2. Whether SMS/OTP content is stored
Verification codes (OTPs) received on a temporary number are shown to you to complete your test. We retain message content only for the minimum period necessary to deliver the code to you and to support the order (for example, to investigate a non-delivery or refund request), after which it is deleted. We do not sell message content, and we do not use it for advertising.
3. How long logs are retained
Operational and security logs (such as IP and request metadata) are retained for a limited period for fraud prevention, security, and legal compliance, and are then deleted or anonymized. Account and billing records are retained for as long as your account is active and for any period required by applicable law. You can request deletion as described below.
4. How we use your data
We use your data to provide and maintain the service, process payments, prevent fraud and abuse, comply with legal obligations, and communicate important service or account information. We process personal data on the basis of contract performance, our legitimate interests in operating a secure service, and your consent where required.
5. Cookies and analytics
We use essential cookies for core functionality and, with your consent, analytics and performance cookies to understand and improve how the site is used. Analytics scripts are not loaded until you give consent through our cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time via Cookie Settings.
6. Sharing your data
We share data only with service providers necessary to operate the service (such as payment processors and infrastructure providers), and where required by law. We do not sell your personal data.
7. Account deletion requests
You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting privacy@smsinbox.io from your registered email. We will process the request subject to any legal retention obligations and confirm once completed.
8. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability and to withdraw consent. 9. Children's data
